I have to use them for work. I have to figure out the best to use and how for everything else...basically.

I hope we all walk the talk when the time comes. I believe taxes fund unjust wars that lead to the most atrocious realities on this planet……but I still pay them, and so does everyone I know.

Good luck trying to block over 65K ports. Unless they create the great wall of Brazil and have internal firewalls, just consider any kind of news like that to be from politicians who doesn't understand technology. Just like trying to ban private wallets in the UK.

But how will your ISP facilitate advertising to your preferences? How will you ever find out how much you need various products and services you don't already know you need?

I feel the same way. I’m about to leave my job, but when you spend 6 months or more each year staying in hotels, you learn that hotels and their service companies are as malicious as any “hacker”. Never ever use the Internet unprotected at a hotel.
