“If the developers are shown to be able to censor, then they will become required to censor.”
Andreas the GOAT. He’s the reason I got started in the first place, and this is the final word on the debate as far as I’m concerned.
Running Bitcoin Core 30. Not sorry, GFY.

Same here on both counts
Which debate?
The most highly regarded one, about spam on-chain.
Define spam? What does that have to do with v30?
Nobody can. That’s the neat part. I won’t debate it anymore.
Just questions. Was trying to extrapolate the GOAT and the version. 🤷♂️ G’day to ya.
I think if you watch the clip and DYOR for 10 minutes, you‘ll understand the point I’m making.
Love Andreas. Just trying to understand after 10 minutes…. Knots vs Core? Red vs blue? Core v29 vs v30? Sorry, just not making the connection to the version.
Node with 100kb default (but adjustable) OP_RETURN limit vs node with 83byte OP_RETURN limit
Thank you! Wasn’t sure; context to the video wasn’t clear to me with regard to specifics. But that makes sense.
Not a fan of adjusting defaults, but there is no clear option other than this. The other “options” available are to support a project with one ideological developer or stagnate. It’d be nice if there were more versions with deeper development base, but there aren’t.
Just not going to wear a v30 button. That doesn’t make any sense either. 😔
Shitcoiners don’t have the final word on anything
You are relaying spam for no reason.
There is a clear reason for me to relay transactions regardless of what's inside them. It's because they are concensous. I don't care what's in your transaction because you shouldn't care what's in mine.
Let's change the rules is a different discussion.
I’m not going to relay your shit if the total size of the “transaction” is 100x bigger than even a huge batch payment. I don’t have to know or care what it is.
Bitcoin is not for data storage. It’s for money.
Sounds like you need a different coin then man. Idk what to tell you.
No I’m just not gonna relay huge obvious spam. Just like actual bitcoiners have always been doing since 2014
Andreas is the GOAT. Great post
Andreas is human and fallible.
He was a Covid Crank and is wrong about the Bible.
I am still agnostic about the Core vs Knots, but caution following personas as I still believe "Everyone is a scammer".

Just shows even OG’s can get things wrong (in my opinion). Certainly not a reason to run Core 30 afaic.
Is this recent?
Yeah, must have just dropped because suddenly it’s everywhere.
Gotta get him on Nostr!
I wish.
Smart move.
limiting op return size is not censorship??
Running Knots v29.2 until libbitcoin-node v4 is ready.
Sick of anyone pretending these two groups are all we have to choose from.
When the mempool and the utxo set are all we can argue over, opt out of both.
Meanwhile, Andreas did a lot of good. He also wrote the book on Ethereum.
Satoshi himself could come along and an appeal to authority would still be a logical fallacy.
Imo it’s not a matter of censorship. Core 30 changed and increased data limits and sizes that were set in the original code. It’s like trying to alter the US constitution in an attempt to “modernize” it. There’s some things that best left alone. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty firm on that belief.
Still seems to be missing the point..
I would expect nothing less from an ethereum promoter.
Why even put a 100k limit? Let's go big! Let's do 1TB op_returns. Or even better, let's put infinite size op_returns.
If an op_return limit is censorship, we've had censorship for a long time in bitcoin.
The pruning argument is really bad too. That means no archival nodes. That means no electrum servers too.
Really bad takes. But he's been doing those for a long time now.
Etherium is a scam
Homosexual shitcoiner
Just UTXOs would be nice
kill your heros.
That line nails it: once devs can flip a censor switch, every regulator will demand it. Protocols need the can’t, not the won’t. Running Core is voting with your CPU.
