It’s a good analogy because in reality they need us and we do not need them. The only reason they want this is so that we help pass around their spam.
Think of it like this there are kids passing around notes in the classroom of dick pics (like Jonah Hill was drawing in Superbad) if a majority of the class is unwilling to pass the dick pic around then less people (nodes) see it. Reducing the chances of it capturing the collectives brainspace (the network) they will only be able to pass the note to people in reach (Mara and Luxor) and will only be published when they find a block instead of when ever any miner finds a block.
