If you want to onboard a merchant to accept bitcoin it’s not going to happen the first time you visit.
Whenever you ask, “do you accept bitcoin as payment?” expect a “NO” 99% of the time.
This is normal. Chances are you are the first person to ever ask.
Rather than get discouraged, ask if they will accept a tip in bitcoin.
In my experience 90% will say yes. Have them download a lightning wallet and one minute later they have used bitcoin for the first time.
If they say no, my friend @Nackoo2000 has the perfect response: “Okay, if you don’t want any money that’s fine.”
By casually referring to bitcoin as money you trigger an emotional response which cements the memory in their mind.
Next time they hear about bitcoin they’ll remember turning it down. That’s a win.
