You don't understand why they are pissed? Do you really not get it? It isn't about the solution(handouts as you say), it is about the cause.
There is PLENTY that both the left and right and moderates agree on fixing. Once fixed, the handouts are not needed. Otherwise, whats you end game? Just keep up the status quo for another 50 years as the government takes more control and power?
