Today marks 25 years since my country was bombed, in the operation called “Merciful angel” or “Angel of Mercy” - whatever. In 78 days of air strikes: - 420k bombs were dropped on us - 4k died (81 child) - 25k homes destroyed, plus: - 14 airports - 18 kindergartens - 39 hospitals - 69 schools - 176 historical sites - 500+ kilometers of roads Etc I was nine. I remember my nose bled from fear. I don’t know how me being scared caused my nose to bleed, but it happened. I remembered the duffle bag packed next to the door, with a few cans of food inside of it, some clean clothes, passports, and all gold jewelry we had- cuz we didn’t know if it would get worse. I still have ptsd triggered every time I head air strikes sirens. Luckily, I don’t hear them much- only when they are testing if those still work, or when are paying tributes to the casualties. Anyway, for years to follow, my father would use any opportunity to gift us gold jewelry. Why? Because: “If it gets bad again, money won’t worth much. We learned that in 1994. You exchange these ear rings/bracelets/necklaces for food or anything you need. Nowadays, I don’t have a run away bag prepared. But trust me when I tell you, I could pack one in jut a few minutes. Nowadays, I don’t buy my kid gold jewelry, I stack sats. It could be one of the reasons why I’m bitcoining. It gives me a hope. An escape plan, among other things. As for the first part of my note, let’s stop for a second to think about all kids around the world, their traumas, bleeding noses from fear and sleepless nights. Let’s pray for their beautiful souls and innocent lives. 🇷🇸

One day, in the capital, people were informed to stay away from the specific bridge cuz it is a target, so “naturally” people gathered on that same bridge, and had a party. Wore white tshirt with target symbols on them. Singers, stage, full orchestra, kids, adults, pets, everyone dancing and singing while planes were circling above their heads, and gave up from bombing the bridge. Resiliency, ha!
You know I admire and love you deeply! I’m never going to understand this pain but I’m willing to give my life to make sure you never go through this again 💜 I’ll keep fighting every day for a Bitcoin future, maybe someday nation/states won’t be able to print money and kill innocents.
"NATO bombing of Yugoslavia March–June 1999 NATO military operation in Yugoslavia The North Atlantic Treaty Organization carried out an aerial bombing campaign against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia during the Kosovo War. The air strikes lasted from 24 March 1999 to 10 June 1999. The bombings continued until an agreement was reached that led to the withdrawal of the Yugoslav Army from Kosovo, and the establishment of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo, a UN peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. The official NATO operation code name was Operation Allied Force whereas the United States called it Operation Noble Anvil; in Yugoslavia the operation was incorrectly called Merciful Angel, possibly as a result of a misunderstanding or mistranslation. NATO's intervention was prompted by Yugoslavia's bloodshed and ethnic cleansing of Albanians, which drove the Albanians into neighbouring countries and had the potential to destabilize the region." -Wikipedia Result I got looking up what you're talking about
If you think telling someone what their 9-year-old self felt during a war is invalid because her government invaded another, you've got bigger problems. When are you going to learn that citizens are not responsible for the atrocities their governments commit? We are all pawns. What you need to understand here is that terrorizing people with bombs and arms under the name of "freedom" is not the way to go. Separation of money and state IS the way to go. No matter what we do, if we don't shut down the money printers, wars will continue to happen. They are an extremely profitable business. I don’t know what horrible things have happened to you that you feel it's okay to attack a person online who is telling the story she experienced when she was a child. But you should really check yourself, get a hug. Right now, you are being no better than the ones you claim to hate.

Ridiculous and false. War crimes are committed always by all participants in a war, there are no 'good guys'. But 1) Croatians did not have an extermination camp for Serbs, you can look up Srebrenica for that, 2) Croatians did not occupy a foreign Serbian city and proceed to torture and rape the local population, you can look up Vukovar for that, and 3) the Serbs started the whole thing, and now we are supposed to blame NATO for helping to end the thing. Fuck that. Serbs still hate the west for the bombing instead of realizing that their own government was to blame. It is uncommon for a Serb to admit fault, they always play the victim.
Well in difference of you I experienced that war as a child and lost my family in it. I was living whole war in occupied Sarajevo which was bombarded for entire duration of war. I am bosnian. NATO did not end that war that war ended in 1995. NATO ended civil war that happened in Serbia and that does not have any relationship with Vukovar and any of it. Secondly yes Croatia did commit attrocities not only in that war but also previous war world war 2. But history is history. You can try and sell people from the west your story but there were a lot of bosnians in camps imprisoned by croatian army and serbian army. You can look up more informations online. Not only focus on “Vukovar”. War was horrible and it took everything from some of us. But I still don’t cheer for innocent people to die or even worse innocent children no matter what their nationality is. Be a man don’t be a cunt.
Secondly I don’t see any part of the text where Thunder praised her goverment. She did not praise war in kosovo, she did not praise Vukovar. She lived trough that bombing as a child and she does not have anything to do with her countries goverment decisions. Maybe you 50 IQ brain can comprehend it in like 5 years or so. Cheers!

This thread was infuriating to read. I have heard personal accounts about the atrocities Serbians committed in Vukovar in Croatia. How your soldiers would torture civilians and pass them amongst each other while laughing and having a good time. How your soldiers raped and pillaged the land, how you bombed hospitals and schools. It is sickening, you only have your government and yourselves to blame. Over 30 years ago and still incapable of admitting any blame. To all you westerners, I implore you to read more about the terrible Yugoslavian wars of the early 1990s before showing sympathy. Did civilians die during the bombing of Belgrade? Well, yes, but this is the horror of war, and the Serbs were the ones who started it.
Thunder started a family with an individual from a neighbor nation, her own nation was in the direct war with just 3 decades ago. Different nationality, different religion, war history behind two countries. That’s all I’m gonna say. Children were made orphans back then. I don’t care if those children were Bosnian, Serbian or Croatian. I don’t pick who I feel sorry for. There are no “our children” and “their children”, there are people with names and faces who suffered. I feel sorry we went through it. I believe it was someone else’s agenda and we were all too stupid not to see it. Full stop. It breaks my heart to see these young generation still falling for these agendas. But anyway, what i mentioned above in this note and what my note yesterday was about, are two different events with years between them, not connected whatsoever.
Spoken like a true statist, unable to break out of the statist paradigm. If you were worth the time and effort you could probably list 10 bad things the Serbian state did... and the individual you're attacking could write an essay about why she'd morally appose each one. But it would be pointless, because you're dumb.
