The Consumer Price Index (IPC-S) accelerated by 0.26% in the third week of December, following a 0.24% increase in the previous week, according to information released on Tuesday, December 23, by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). With this result, the IPC-S accumulates a 3.98% increase over the past 12 months and year. There were increases in five of the eight groups that make up the IPC-S from the second to the third week of December: Clothing (-1.13% to -0.21%), Housing (0.37% to 0.42%), Transportation (0.18% to 0.22%), Food (-0.07% to -0.04%), and Miscellaneous Expenses (0.04% to 0.07%). On the other hand, there was moderation in the Education, Reading and Recreation (1.88% to 1.57%) and Communication (0.06% to 0.02%) groups, while Health and Personal Care (0.03% to -0.07%) turned negative.
