Interesting. Then I have to guess that all Ring cameras, moving forward, are compromised & should be seen as active national security threats or the like. Definitely something to ponder over while looking at security of self.

Well, yes, thats how I look at it. But thats also something you cannot influence yourself, unless you know someone and inform them, thats all you can actively do.

Yeah, I hear you 🤓 but I’m not only worrying about my own safety here as that would be air for sure. It’s more about how everyone thinks Ring Cameras are completely safe but here we are with another reality they haven’t even thought of yet. As someone that lives on the other side of the world, this is pretty concerning knowing that visuals are now accessible by another country’s Goverment agencies.

People are fine with it until they are impacted. You probably wouldn’t like it if they mailed you a ticket based on a minor traffic infraction caught on one of the cameras. What if your location history caught by a series of these cameras was leaked on the internet? A better system is for them to have to gain your consent prior to using the footage on a case by case basis.
