yeah, iirc, that was some ancient persian mathematician who made a bet with a king. i forget if it cost him his life or not, but it's a perfect illustration.
2^64 is what modern computers use to calculate with. if i remember correctly, the number amounts to centuries or maybe even millennia of rice production.
big numbers are the coolest thing in mathematics. hash functions, signatures, proximity hashes (used in LLMs) and pseudorandom number generators. i love that shit
