Even with Signal, which is open source, we cannot know who is running the server, but we can verify the client code and ensure that it encrypts all outputs and that the binaries are reproducible.
With SimpleX, this goes even further because we can run our own receiving server, mitigating many risks.
But with WhatsApp? 😂 It's easier to find an honest politician or a unicorn.
