Just wondering aloud, for no particular reason, but do most of you feel like you almost exclusively get engagement from the same few dozen accounts, despite having hundreds of followers? I don't mind it, in fact it's probably preferable, but that has been my experience. I definitely reply/engage most with those same npubs, but I feel like I roam around into other peoples' threads a decent amount.

Howdy folks, if any Haven users out there want to test the latest updates on master before I cut a release, this one is all about Web of Trust settings. Haven’s built-in WoT model has been moved behind an interface and can now be easily replaced by alternative algorithms. For example, I’m using my own ownertrust model. It can also be adapted to use external sources, such as calling one of the fancy WoT tools out there. Haven default WoT mofel can now 1. Be periodically refreshed at configurable predefined intervals (default 24h), thanks to @Sergey B. (idea by @Girino Vey!). 2. Allow you to choose your WoT "depth" for the Inbox and Chat relays 0 - Public relay, no write restrictions (not recommended) 1 - Only the relay owner can write to their relay (for the extra antisocial folk or when your relay is under attack and you just don’t want to deal with it) 2 - Pubkeys directly followed by the relay owner can write to Inbox and Chat 3 - Friends of friends with a configurable minimum number of common followers (Haven’s old default behaviour) I also took the time to fix several bugs and race conditions in the default WoT algorithm that caused Kind 3 events to be counted multiple times, inflating the WoT numbers. As a consequence, Depth 3 should now be stricter, especially for folks with small follow lists and high values for `WOT_MINIMUM_FOLLOWERS`. 🔔 Jednání o míru zamrzlo na dvou klíčových otázkách. Mluvit se mělo i o rychlém uspořádání voleb na Ukrajině: Druhé kolo třístranných jednání Ukrajiny, USA a Ruska v Abú Zabí nepřineslo průlom. Prezident Volodymyr Zelenskyj potvrdil, že patová situace je způsobena hlavně dvěma stále nevyřešenými klíčovými otázkami. Jednání se dotkla také možného časového rámce mírové dohody, podle agentury Reuters se řešilo dokonce brzké konání voleb na Ukrajině, v těchto bodech však shoda zatím nepanuje. Prezident Zelenskyj ale v podobném duchu zmínil, že USA chce míru dosáhnout do června.

I was thinking about it, we start off with these simple observations " why are the stars inverted in the southern hemisphere " and the only explanation that actually fit the observed data is people walking around on a sphere. but that doesn't make any fucking sense if you don't know anything about *the context of the sphere itself* so for thousands of years this conversation was the status quo. P1 : " this ball model is the only model that explains the data. " P2 : "lol, that's ridiculous what keeps people from falling off the ball?" from the 18th and 19th century advances in lenses etc made it clear that the flat earth hypothesis was doomed as the logical gymnastics had to increase as observational data was gathered. but it's only the early 20th century that we get general relativity and data to *actually show* there IS a "force" holding people on the ball. iow, we get the context for the sphere people are walking around on. flat earthers are fucking retarded, they don't even understand that there is basic observational data which contradicts their model of the world. data people have been trying to explain since we were sailing around in dug out canoes, but its kinda understandable retardation if you think about the time frame it took to actually get here. they don't understand GR and to them, physicists are just priests of a new religion. lacking understanding about how the data was collected or how to verify it themselves, what recourse do they have except to ooga booga about it?
