What can you tell us about this projection?

It would be even more interesting if there were another image placing the Bering Strait in the middle and Antarctica and Australia on the sides. It would be more visible that most continents (except, in part, Oceania and Antarctica) are practically connected, and it is politics that keeps them apart.
