I’ve organized my life so that I never have to put up with this shit in a professional capacity again for the rest of my career. It is the single best thing about owning my own business. Anyone incapable of compartmentalizing personal differences from professional capabilities is a liability in a professional setting. Put yourself in a position to decide what kind of bullshit you have to tolerate in your career.
For 18 of the 21 years I’ve known my partners and employees we disagreed on just about every political question. That has never once interfered with how we work together. And now that I agree with them on many political questions, nothing has changed.
Don’t tolerate working with people who can’t separate their emotions from the work they do. Be the person who decides what kind of bullshit you have to put up with at work.
