If RINOs do not cave within 61 days, could do some significant draining of the swamp and reduction in deficit spending. Of course, if the Dems cave, then no option but to re-open government before major draining/RIFing could be completed. Heck - anyone done the math on just giving all of these ~750k federal employees a 60-day severance package (could probably run numbers and see how many would take 30 days versus going without a paycheck right now)...and then completing the RIF?

Many of my friends are legal immigrants, and several are H1B that put in the years to get to green card. Half of my extended family - through one of my son-in-laws - still has a large portion of his family living in Mexico. When I played high school football in Texas, more than 1/3 of my friends were black. Just because I like this meme does NOT make me a racist! I would not expect this preferential treatment if I decided to move to/visit another country.

If only this would happen...and RINOs need to grow a spine and let the shutdown go more than just a few days. Let Trump do a massive budget restructuring - through the layoffs and the voluntary resignations - which would result in reducing (this year's) deficit spending and maybe draining SOME of the swamp.

Very applicable to Core vs Knots discussion...and was done in 2024. Don't be messing with Layer One. Fix bugs...get a headstart on addressing quantum computing. Do not develop for the sake of developing - and I WAS a software architect/developer for my career. One product/protocol does NOT need to be the "be all, end all" that solves all problems. Yeah, we can't censor who gets access to the protocol or gets into a block...but do not go out of your way to enable the frivolous or spammy.
