I didn't even get mad at being called emo image
If y'all are shocked that they used flash bang grenades on protesters in the Bay Area then you didn't Stand with Standing Rock long enough. Black and Brown people have always known exactly what your government is capable of. You just didn't listen.
1/ I post a lot of funny memes every Indigenous Peoples Day but it actually means a lot to me. As a detribalized citizen of the Tribal Majority (Mvskoke and Semvnole) who is part of the first generation of our family not to be forced to those reeducation camps euphemistically called federal Indian boarding "schools" and the only Native in my grade in elementary school who was forced to play the Indian in land run reenactments
CW: graphic descriptions of Native genocide 🧡 Secretary of war pete hegseth has stated the medals of honor for the Wounded Knee Massacre will not be rescinded so let me tell you once again what your "america" honors. It was almost 135 years ago, December 29, 1890, in what was already a grisly story written in the blood of the Indigenous, when the largest mass shooting in the so called united states history took place at Wounded Knee in what is now South Dakota. image
I don't support disenrollment but I do 100% support stitt self deporting off the Cherokee rolls. I'll even give him $5 to do it.
NATIVE #MUTUALAID Cherokee family of 4 w toddler needs $20 for gas until payday. 2 allies sending $10 meets this need. Mvto! Cashapp $fdanger Venmo/PayPal @npub1z7eh...y590 #settlersaturday #nativemutualaid #indigenousmutualaid #crowdfund #bipocmutualaid
🧡 It's not as lyrical as "At the far end of the Trail of Tears was a promise" but damn if I didn't smile when I read "because this is what Mvskoke law demands." Today is an historic day. The Mvskoke Nation Supreme Court has ruled that the Nation must abide by the promises our ancestors made in the 1866 treaty and recognize the right to Mvskoke citizenship for Freedmen. πŸ“„.pdf
🧡There's a lot of discourse surrounding this controversial post made by Ann Coulter in which she features a pic of a Native college professor and states "We didn't kill enough Indians." As a Mvskoke Semvnole woman I'd like to say mvto (thank you) to Coulter for this post. Natives have survived ongoing physical and cultural genocides, blankets given in the first act of colonial bioweapon usage in history, image
1/ Since Greyhound Bus is not taking this situation seriously when I tried to resolve it (I've called twice and been refused a supervisor then hung up on) I'm going to let you know that your physical safety is at risk when you travel with them. Tonight in OKC I attempted to make a trip I've made countless times. The security guard I asked about boarding told me the bus had not arrived yet. I had to ask him because the front desk was unoccupied. image
NO THE FUCK IT'S NOT. Crap like this is the reason there are valid criticisms being leveled at your brand of organizing (and it very much is a brand with your dancing and performative sign holding not backed up with actionable steps to bring change and selfies and permitted parades and yelling shame at ice agents when they're already ice agents so they have no shame and gross patriotism and whiteness). But at least now you can tell yourself you did something while the world burns. #LANDBACK image
