Labour has appointed Baroness Anne Longfield to chair the national grooming-gangs inquiry.
She has spent her career inside the same system that failed these children. She worked under Blair, has long-standing links to Harriet Harman, and as Children’s Commissioner operated entirely within the UN-style children’s rights framework.
She also publicly supports Labour’s Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill, including the proposal for a single unique identifier for every child and expanded cross-state data-sharing … effectively digital ID from birth.
She wont expose the system that failed, she will recommend expanding it.
Her “solution” will be exactly what the state already wants: More data. More control.
More surveillance.
All to “protect children” from grooming gangs?
