I check five of those six boxes so I guess I'm not visiting the USA any time soon …
#PennedPossibilities 875: Does your SC feel like they fit in with their community or culture? Jum and Tabitha are career criminals, grifters who sneaked into a hermit kingdom in order to rob it blind. Too late, they realized it was something else: now they're stuck impersonating natives and looking for escape (with a big haul on the way out, of course). So they know for an absolute fact that they don't fit in! They're just faking it for cold-blooded profit.
Betteridge's Law clearly applies: if this growth rate were to keep up for two decades the entire planet would be covered by a shell of red-hot glowing servers expanding at close to escape velocity.
Boost for artists in AI copyright battle as only 3% back UK active opt-out plan Liz Kendall faces pressure from campaigners as she tells parliament there is no clear consensus on issue Kendall is lying: 88% of the public in consultation exercise wanted *stronger* copyright law, and 95% want AI companies to pay for training data.
Narcissistic personality disorder combined with dementia is a hell of a bad trip. And the tangerine tyrant is insistent on taking the rest of us along with him on his way down the drain.
So, the Police Scotland helicopter out of Glasgow flew over Edinburgh today, following this rather peculiar route, then hot-footed it back to base … image
Just noting I have only ever owned stick shift cars; the most complicated in car electronics was a CD autochanger. Cruise control on my last car just maintained constant speed (with a manual tranny). I've never driven a hybrid or electric vehicle. And I learned to navigate using paper maps and a compass. No cellphones back then! I'm 61. All this automation came along in the 21st century.
Begs the question of who's going to milk the camel!
#WritersCoffeeClub Day 14: Share how you tackle a first round of revisions. First, hate-read the edit letter, chanting "noNoNO!!!"—then put it away and sleep on it. That gets the defensive ego bullshit out of the way, so that in the morning I can re-read it with a clearer head and try to understand the editor's read on the story. (If an editor asks for a change, then it means they're see a problem. Their suggested change is not always the right one, but the problem needs fixing.)
