The lack of sharing about spam campaigns is a little sad. I'd love to have a list of every IP/email used by nicole across the fediverse, and then we could send a report of a known threat actor to some of the SOCs (depending on which providers they use) to get their accounts shutdown in bulk. Pig butchering isn't going to stop if you ignore it like it does with the script kiddies and discord ethugs. #infosec

Slowly self hosting my own mail for my fediverse services.. It'll only save a few bucks Free is better than cheap.... and I can offer this to the other fediverse services over time if they want

As somebody who isn't a coder, I cannot thank @npub1q3uc...r5gz enough for taking the time to listen and work with me on a "akismet for the fediverse" concept today. I wrote a short pitch for "FediThreat: Federated Threat Intelligence Service - IP/Email/URL reputation service" and Dan has completed a POC. This concept has been in my head for 7 years but I just didn't have the ability to code it.... So this is something I'm looking forward to maintaining once it's online operationally to try and help our mods from dealing with spam..... My pitch documents are here:
