my father-in-law is an appview developer. he is insanely gifted. we were on bluesky and I asked him what it would cost to build it today. I will never forget his answer... "we can't. we don't know how"
now 34.04x smaller https://shiitake.us-east.host.bsky.network/xrpc/com.atproto.sync.getBlob?did=did:plc:uu5axsmbm2or2dngy4gwchec&cid=bafkreiboairfv4ss7tjcxt6gjd3egzpezvfmbdijal3ga5xhngak27u26a
the world if atproto only supported one elliptic curve https://shiitake.us-east.host.bsky.network/xrpc/com.atproto.sync.getBlob?did=did:plc:uu5axsmbm2or2dngy4gwchec&cid=bafkreiey7v7l5gj2iav3wviz7f6kfrrevzpbul2yfki3l2rhoqtnzvjfki
an "atproto for people who know ActivityPub" guide would be broadly useful I think
updated the atproto utilities Raycast extension with handle/did resolution btw [www.raycast.com/ftrstk/atpro...]( ) https://shiitake.us-east.host.bsky.network/xrpc/com.atproto.sync.getBlob?did=did:plc:uu5axsmbm2or2dngy4gwchec&cid=bafkreid3i3lnesrpymafq65kc6yruoxnqpkwtxj5drinxg6wdwuhgukpei
what most excites me about atproto is how it shifts the incentive structure of the web back towards collaboration it's actually pretty hard to build on atproto and not have others benefit from it! "locked open" is a good metaphor, but beyond that, it's a sign that says "COME IN & MAKE IT YOUR OWN"
also wrote a guide on running an automated labeler, let me know what you think! [skyware.js.org/guides/label...]( ) RE: [Automated Labeling | @skyware/...]( )
so many atproto project ideas so little time
at the protocol, straight up posting it. and by 'it', heh, well. let's justr say. The brainwomrs
