My #FediCon keynote: "The Fediverse in Action: Building Social Platforms That People Actually Want" I've mastered building platforms people actually use, and I'm ready to spill all the secrets 🔥 Going from zero conference talks straight to a keynote? Makes perfect sense to me 😎 #letsGoLetsGo
Just submitted a grant application to fund creator monetization features for Pixelfed and Loops! 🎉 Think: direct micropayment support for photographers and content creators, not ads or data harvesting. Building sustainable funding models that put creators first ✨ More details soon. #pixelfed #loops #sustainableMonetization
Just pushed the 100th commit to loops 🥳 Can't wait to tag the v1.0.0-alpha, we're so close 🚀 #loops
Loops is the ethical TikTok alternative the fediverse needs. Unique safety features, mental health protections, and user controls you've never seen before. Open source launch coming later this month - and you'll see why we took the time to get this right ✨ #loops #tikTok
The fediverse is about to get A LOT more fun! ✨ Loops brings TikTok-style short videos to our federated community. The same addictive scroll + FYP experience you know, but with federation, privacy-respecting algorithms, and zero corporate surveillance. Backend + webUI almost ready for you to self host! #loops #fediverse #tiktok
The Loops webUI has a share feature for easy sharing to other platforms! We could use more though, so drop your recommended platforms and I'll do my best to add them, they need to support an intent url like hxxps://t.me/share/url?url={url} #loops image
I've never attended a conference before, but I have watched many. I'll be giving a keynote at in one month, and it will be iconic. One more thing, we built a new product that we think you'll love. It's called ... #fedicon
Here's to the crazy ones. The digital revolutionaries. The #fediverse builders. The ones who see social media differently. They're not fond of #BigTech. And they have no respect for the #SurveillanceEconomy. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people crazy enough to think they can change social media, are the ones who do.
Rip Vidzy. They deleted their project after crashing out by attacking and trying to blame me for "stealing users", despite my attempts to collaborate and give them attention. Let this be a lesson to other/future fedi devs, our projects are not a popularity contest. We succeed together, for the people 🚀 #vidzy #loops
