This is from a couple days ago, but just saw this. It's a garbage lawsuit. Got a copy of the complaint and, notably, he doesn't include the prompts. If that's defamation, basically anyone can prompt any chatbot in a way that will generate defamatory statements... and then sue.

Wrote about why, even if you hate AI and data scrapers, Reddit's lawsuit is pretty damn crazy. They're claiming that getting data from Google (not Reddit) violates copyrights that Reddit doesn't hold, meaning Reddit can claim copyright infringement. It's ridiculous.

And this is all while Dems have failed to show much of a spine or any suggestion of an actual economic plan. Imagine if they actually got their shit together and presented a positive vision for the future.

So much to say here, but the idea that they would sue over this is beyond ridiculous. There is no legitimate claim here. I'm guessing they're thinking about a publicity rights claim, but that won't fly. California's law exempts political/news usage.

This is really not how any of this is supposed to work. Remembering how many times I was told "the government should never be picking winners and losers"... from many people who are in today's federal government.
