For the record, do I still believe in the benefits of Bitcoin? I sure do. It’s another medium of exchange that can help people. There are plenty of testimonials about Bitcoin helping disadvantaged people.
Is Bitcoin the answer to everything? No. Hence, the slogan “Bitcoin fixes this” sounds crazy. Bitcoin can’t fix anything if you’re hypocritical about it.
As someone who has been researching Bitcoin since 2009, you better be well versed if you step in my comments. Don’t embarrass yourself on the Internet.
As stated before, there are agendas for Bitcoin. I constantly point to the paper that introduced Bitcoin to remind people to stay focused. People are doing things with Bitcoin but missing out on the original purpose. If I’m wrong, tag me and let’s have an open discussion on the world stage for the whole world to see.
So, let’s recap. Bitcoin has a trust problem. The average person can’t afford to buy a whole Bitcoin. They’ll have to settle for fractions of a coin. Sats. Internationally speaking, Bitcoin has limited merchant adoption. Plus, throw in all the other issues I discussed in my academic research paper, “Bitcoin: The Reality, The Issues, and The Potential.”
Now, let’s add hypocrisy.
All while stable coins are making MAJOR moves around the world and being used in ways to give people “freedom”.
I’ve been to over 25 countries. I talk to regular people about a lot of things. I’m a social butterfly. When I ask them about Bitcoin in candid conversations, I constantly hear people say “I don’t trust it. Too many people have been scammed” The next thing I commonly hear people say is “where do I spend it.”
And people think I’m focused on merchant adoption because I’m bored. But they’re sitting behind their computer screen in their bubbles with limited international travel.
I can fund my own projects to discuss Bitcoin on the world stage if I wanted to. But why use fiat to talk about Bitcoin? Does that make sense? And why should I use fiat to buy Bitcoin to talk about Bitcoin to others when Bitcoin was supposed to be p2p? Doesn’t that sound crazy?
I wanted to help teach the world about the benefits of Bitcoin by getting a Bitcoin grant. Seems logical, right?
One MAIN issue with Bitcoin is that it has a messaging and trust problem. So, being hypocritical about your “freedom money” doesn’t help!
