The longest mile on the #AppalachianTrail is the Mahoosuc Notch, a stretch of house sized boulders at the bottom of a ravine in Southern Maine. It takes between two and three hours to traverse. Even in July there was unmelted snow in the cracks between rocks as well as the skeleton of a moose. image
