People who are suggesting that the Colbert show and others who are being pressured out by the current administration, should then start up a PeerTube instance and figure out a way to monetize it, either have no idea how a show like Colbert is funded, or have no idea how PeerTube works and what it’s purpose is. I mean, essentially what you’re suggesting is that a five star Michelin restaurant close their doors and start handing out food on the corner for tips. Really?

This is going to be a long rant. So buckle up. MOST (not all) people on the Fedi don't support PeerTube content. They might see a video in their feed, but they aren't going to watch it. And they DEFINITELY aren't browsing anyone's PeerTube instance to find videos to watch. Everyday I see really well made videos get 14 views after a week. Even if I go to one of the more popular instances I see videos that have been up for 6 months with only 400 views. And yeah, that seems like a lot. P.1
