On 2024-10-16, the Norwegian CA Buypass, which offered free ACME certificates, was acquired by another company, which led to worries about the future of their free cert program. They've now announced they are going to entirely stop issuing free and paid certs 2025-10-15. They will also disable new ACME account registration 2025-09-15.
