Twitter can ban you with one click. On Nostr, your identity lives in a keypair — no CEO can erase it. Facebook asks for your name, email, and phone number. Nostr asks for nothing — except your public key. On Instagram, your posts belong to the platform. On Nostr, your notes belong to you — forever. Telegram can cut you off from your groups. On Nostr, your connections live on the open protocol — nobody can sever them. Reddit mods can delete your post. On Nostr, even the network itself can’t take it down. On YouTube, your videos need permission to exist. On Nostr, your content is relayed everywhere the moment you publish. #Nostr #Freedom
In the Bitcoin network, time is measured in blocks, not seconds. Roughly every 10 minutes, a new block is born — a heartbeat of the system. It’s not perfect clock time, but it’s perfectly reliable. Each block locks the past deeper into history and pushes the present into the future. When I send a payment, I’m not waiting for someone to “approve” it. I’m just waiting for the next heartbeat.
