YHWH’s servants seize power and lord it over men. The Son of the true Father rejects earthly rule outright. YHWH’s prophet Moses thrusts himself in: “Why are you striking your fellow?”—and gets snarled at: “Who made YOU ruler and judge over us?” (Exod 2:14) Christ is begged to divide an inheritance and answers exactly the same words: “Man, who made me a judge or divider over you?” (Luke 12:14)—then refuses.image
Watching Wicked Parts 1 & 2 hit differently for me: The Wizard = the God (YHWH) of the Old Testament: a bumbling, fear-mongering propagandist who seizes Oz’s throne through smoke, mirrors, mechanical toys, and outright lies. All spectacle, no real power. Elphaba (the “Wicked” Witch) = the unknown God revealed in Christ: misunderstood, defamed, hunted for telling the truth, yet the only one with genuine supernatural power—and ultimate goodness. It's all about the false ruler being exposed, the true higher power vindicated.image
There are multiple gods. If you don't understand this, you must see YHWH as merely boasting that He is greater than a toy (carved image, etc.). Nothing to write home about..🙃 You shall have no strange gods, shall worship no alien god. I, Yahweh, am your God... [Ps 81:9]
Jesus never told us to seize nations, build empires, or rule by law—He said: “Seek first the kingdom of God.” YHWH promised land, victory, and earthly blessings; Christ tells His flock to seek a kingdom not of this world and promises only the kingdom itself. (Evangelion, cf. Luke 12:31–32)
YHWH’s Law: Touch a woman with an issue of blood and you’re unclean seven days (Lev 15:19-27). Christ: Lets her touch Him in faith, feels power leave Him, heals her instantly, calls her “Daughter” (Luke 8:43-48). YHWH contaminates; the Father cleanses. YHWH curses the bleeding; Christ blesses her.image
