Help Needed with Bitcoin Core Command-Line Tools Setup
Namaste Y'all!
I'm currently setting up Bitcoin Core on my Mac and need some help with getting the command-line tools (like bitcoin-cli) to work. Hereโs the situation:
I have Bitcoin Core installed, but I downloaded the GUI version from the official Bitcoin Core website. ( like i had a choice)
When I open the Bitcoin-Qt app, I can use the graphical interface, but I canโt find bitcoin-cli to interact with the Bitcoin network through the command line.
I found the Bitcoin-Qt.app in my Downloads folder, and I believe it's just the GUI version, not the full version with CLI tools.
I tried checking in the Contents/MacOS/ directory inside the app, but I couldnโt find bitcoin-cli or bitcoind.
Questions:
How can I check if the command-line tools are included with my current installation?
If theyโre not included, whatโs the best way to get bitcoin-cli and bitcoind working?
Would you recommend reinstalling Bitcoin Core with the full version (which includes both GUI and CLI tools), or is there an easier way to install just the CLI tools?
Setup:
Bitcoin Core GUI is already installed in /Users/Downloads/Bitcoin-Qt.app
Running pruned node for space efficiency.
What Iโve Tried:
Iโve already checked the app bundle for bitcoin-cli and bitcoind under Contents/MacOS, but no luck.
Looking for an easy solution to get the CLI tools up and running without taking up too much disk space.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance

so,
One of Bitcoinโs weirdest engineering tricks! ๐ฉโจ
Bitcoin did increase the block size with SegWit in 2017 but they canโt officially call it that because of backward compatibility with old nodes.
๐ Itโs still called a "1 MB block" for old nodes.
๐ It actually stores up to ~4 MB of data.
๐ This works because Bitcoin Core changed how block space is "counted" (Weight Units instead of bytes).
