"A good photograph allows the viewer to have an emotion response to the image. Allowing the viewer form their own perspective, meaning and feeling to the image."

"I'm a street still life photographer with focus on impromptu color and form. A finder of accidental sculptures and paintings in a street setting".
On the contrary, desaturating your photo can actually reveal more subtle variations in color and tone, because removing strong colors highlights the underlying differences in luminance and shading.

"I'm a photographer based in Denver, Colorado. These photos were taken during an unusually cold and foggy period in the days around Christmas 2024, near my hometown in Central Nebraska".

The art of photography isn’t really about using the camera. It’s about learning to discern and omit - and knowing how to truly see and consider what matters.
Huge congratulations to our third NOICE VEA winner, Kathrin Mundwiler!
We received an incredible range of work this past quarter - it was tough to pick just one, but Kathrin’s series really exemplified the ethos of what we value here at NOICE Magazine: finding beauty in the mundane and everyday moments.
This has been our focus for over 10 years now, so it’s always a joy and an honor to highlight photographers like Kathrin and work like hers.

"I think a good photograph captures something you find interesting. It doesn't have to be flashy or staged or require setup - it can be about finding something worth noticing in an average, mundane day. It should evoke some sort of emotion - I like photographs that make me feel nostalgic, or elicit happiness because of the beauty of the subject. Oh, and good lighting."
