As a Bitcoiner and austrian economist, you learn that value is subjective. Properties that make things more valuable are for example: SCARCITY
Now, is it true that life is valuable because of scarcity?
Many people know Bryan Johnson (the man that wants to live forever).
I can see why this is absurd an many people think that life would become worthless with infinite time.
But would it actually be worthless, or worth less?
My thoughts are: Imagine that 100 years from now, people would be able to live forever and we are the "last generation" that "has to" die.
If we could live forever, is it really time that defines scarcity? Or is it new discovery that defines scarcity?
Let's assume a person could live forever, would life get boring and therefore worth less? I have a hard time believing this, as I think that humanity (espacially with Bitcoin) will be able to inovate so much that every 50 years or so, you will explore a new planet and at some point maybe even a new galaxy or whatever. I think there are infinite possibilities and it wouldn't be boring at all.
What are your thoughts?
Note: I am fully fine with the finiteness of life. 😅
