I don't think there's any other disease where regular control appointments start with the question, "Do you still insist on being kept alive?"
There indeed is a parallel reality for some of us, one where things like mental wellbeing are a joke, and even the right to live is decided on a yearly basis. Doctors looking for signs of weakness they could use to deny care.
I can handle this, not whining about my own fate, but most people can't. And there are so many of us. 200 cases in Finland every year.
