“The mind generally takes up various objects, runs into all sorts of things. That is the lower state. There is a higher state of the mind, when it takes up one object and excludes all others.” –Swami Vivekananda #yoga #meditation #spirituality #mindfulness
“Use your own light, and return to the source of light, that is called practicing eternity.” –Lao-Tzu #wisdom #meditation #spirituality
A steady continuous flow of attention directed at the same point or region is #meditation. – #Yoga Sutras Once we quiet our mind, we can observe the seer and the seen. We are aware of our mind and the object of concentration. With time and practice, the seer dissolves and all there is to experience is the seen. Here we can bask in the flow of moment to moment as our concept of time drifts away, leaving us in the flow of the here and now. #wisdom #spirituality
In yogic philosophy, our souls first manifest as mineral or rock, then evolve into vegetation, then into animals, and finally assume human form. As this evolution occurs there is an acceleration, the process speeds up, light returning to Light. As humans we undertake spiritual practice in order to finish the journey home. In #yoga there is a final, timeless moment in this process, one that has spanned countless lifetimes, and that is what we know as samyama. #yoga #wisdom #spirituality
“The three grand essentials to happiness in life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.” – Joseph Addison This week, and really all weeks, we can choose to be grateful for that in our lives that can be done, loved, and hoped for. #happythanksgiving #thanksgiving #wisdom #spirituality #yoga
“Perhaps one of the greatest rewards of #meditation and #prayer is the sense of belonging that comes to us. We no longer live in a completely hostile world. We are no longer lost and frightened and purposeless. The moment we catch even a glimpse of God's will, the moment we begin to see truth, justice, and love as the real and eternal things in life, we are no longer deeply disturbed by all of the seeming evidence to the contrary that surrounds us.” –Bill Wilson #wisdom #spirituality

#Meditation and #yoga help us journey into and reside within the interior world of sensation in our body, experience of our breath, witness of our mind’s dialogue, and the terrain of our emotional responses. The longer we are able to reside in this inner world, the more powerful our concentration becomes. We also realize that this internal experience is a shared one. As we journey inward, our intelligence connects to Intelligence, our mind communes with Mind. Our self merges with Self. This process creates energy that accelerates our evolution toward who we are meant to be. #spirituality #wisdom #mindfulness.
Body in body. Feelings in feelings. Mind in mind. Objects of the mind in the objects of the mind. This is what it means to be one. #buddhism #wisdom #spiritually #meditation #mindfulness image
“Soaring” 聳 For years, I've practiced ritual. It's dead now. For years, I've practiced meditation. It's dull now. Finally, there is only soaring Like an ectoplasmic ribbon Floating over the sea. #taoism #spirituality #wisdom #meditation image
