Community cohesion is more valuable than luxury.
What is the right security/platform structure to set up a local community β€œbank” of bitcoin that members have access to pull from if needed without permission where the transactions can be verified by all members? Thinking of a way to keep wealth local and functional to fund local community infrastructure, land, and mutual aid services? Similar to how a local church donation works but that would be accessible to all members. @ODELL @Jeff Booth
What really matters in life: 1. Meaningful work with visual results 2. Reciprocal relationships with accountability 3. Physical embodiment 4. A coherent value system New is not always better. Don’t fall for the novelty trap. Build your bastion of values and stand by them at all cost while being open to the discussion of competing ideas.
Leave the world better than you found it. This should be the central tenant of societal morality. Too often we blames others for the lack of beauty in the world without taking the action to create it ourselves. Many today feel the lack of agency in their ability to create. They say they either don’t have the skills or don’t have the tools. I’m here to tell you that you are wrong. Everything you do is an opportunity to make the world a more beautiful place. That report you have to write that you are outsourcing to ai. Take a few minutes to beautify the type face. Or design a single sentence with intent and the goal of making the report just slightly better. Any movement in the direction of beauty is a small expansion of consciousness. You may discount this statement but you will experience it yourself. Next time you do the dishes clean them as thoroughly as you ever have before and then stack them to dry in a pattern that makes your kitchen feel more whole. You don’t need money, tool, or skills to create beauty. You just need choice. Choose wisely my friend.
Ever decision you make tests your conviction
The problem is not that we don’t have enough time. The problem is we have too much time but we fear we don’t know how to fill it in ways that nourish our souls
