😨 Hal Spent the Coins Received From Satoshi On January 16, 2011, Hal Finney informed bitcointalk users that he had unintentionally spent the coins he received from Satoshi in the first transaction in Bitcoin's history. At that time, Bitcoin wallets did not allow users to choose which coins to spend; moreover, as it turned out, Hal did not know that he was the recipient of the first Bitcoin transaction. He considered this transaction as a test and planned to return the coins to Satoshi, but "apparently did not do so." It is also interesting that the first transaction was a payment to an IP address, rather than the later standard transaction to a public key. image https://bitcoin-calendar.org/en/events/2011-01-16/hal-spent-the-coins-received-from-satoshi
