Your kindle library is a window into your mind. If you look through my window, you see a (fairly) contrarian, money-hungry individual who's plagued by the shortness of life. Not sure it's a good thing!
I rarely try to orange pill people. But I just met another pilot. On our flight to Spain, we got chatting about value investing. He was a huge Buffet fan, and has put in1000s of hours investing his own pension. I asked him what got him interested in investing, and he told me he listened to a @preston podcast over a decade ago! That was it. This would be easy. A rational thinker who has low time preference AND clearly respects a prominent Bitcoiner. I thought I'd give him the #bitcoin bug in under 10 minutes. Hell, I suspected he might even be a Bitcoiner already. 2 hours later, he's still talking about no dividends, quantum computing and rat poison squared. 😫 I'm doubling down on my stance... Don't try orange pilling unless the other person seems genuinely open minded and curious.
Having an 'anti' role model in your life can be invaluable. Outside of fixing people's teeth, my Dad spent most of his adult life washing his car, clearing leaves and fixing gutters. Structuring my life to avoid this fate has led to some good decisions in hindsight.
