The fog was insanely thick yesterday morning as we went up to get our Christmas tree, it was maybe 200 foot visibility. So thick we couldn't see any of the river valley, let alone the highway right below. As happens it burned off suddenly to give us a somewhat sunny afternoon. #homesteading #3dprinting #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Rather pleased with my new desk. The wood of my other one was falling apart, the drawers in particular. This one gives me way more storage, has a built in fly tying space with the L shape, and I plan on adding a center drawer. "It really ties the room together" and the color works really well with the flooring. #homesteading #thedude #diy #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Went and tested out one of my newly tied flies yesterday. It looks nifty in the water and I can see where I need to make the next one bigger and add legs to it to try and better imitate a white moth. It's handy having the river so close so I can get a quick look at the flies in water to see their true action. #flyfishing #homesteading #3dprinting #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Spokane is fine when there is ZERO people around, like pretty much any other city. Why I am just fine with 4-5am trips for grain to bypass all the chaos of daytime. Curious to see if I can make a go of the Fix It service, though wil need to advertise which I tend to subscribe to the Bill Hick's ethos about marketing which makes it a bit difficult... #homesteading #farming #3dprinting #hive #peakd #dailyblog
One of my Bald Eagles looking all regal and fully the raptor it is perched above its nest yesterday. There is fungus EVERYWHERE still thanks to the mild temps and deluges of rain which don't seem to want to stop. Not the typical December but one like I have seen before. La Nina is in perimenopause and having hot flashes, hence no snow... #homesteading #baldeagle #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Rather surprised to have a barn spider still looking fat and happy under the pergola on the house. She is a big-un and has ample food still given the 50f temps that are abnormally warm for us now. Hopefully she gets enough warmth off the house to stay alive for a lot longer. #homesteading #spider #nature #hive #peakd #dailyblog
The engine is out again. I'm getting good at this now, specially by myself being able to move the weighted hoist in the gravel. It's looking like the rear main is the culprit for which I will be ordering OEM this time to hopefully ensure a proper fit and it NOT blowing out on me in 2 weeks. Enough of the #diy it really should be #dim for "did it myself" FML! #mechanics #toyota #diy #dim #homesteading #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Stoked on the new version of the Flies of the NW book. Much nicer than my old one and all in color now. Going to a tying class today at the Fly Shop and will hand out some bobbin holders I have printed out. Need to try for commercial license and figure out good embossing. #homesteading #flyfishing #flytying #hive #peakd #dailyblog
