Wet and not freezing makes for the perfect conditions for the fungus to be exploding all around the farm. Just in this one area I could see 8 different fungus species. These look to be meadow mushrooms, similar to the button mushrooms bought in the store. #homesteading #mushrooms #hive #peakd #dailyblog
At our friend's house for 8mm movie night and the jam session was very instructive. Such a good way for him to learn and Sean loved having someone to jam with. Every 8mm film we watched would be canceled in this era... #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Pain and Rain... Fun day yesterday... It's taking forever for the inflammation to go down and it was rather disconcerting to feel the tendons squeak as they moved in my arm. Compression and immobilization has helped so this morning it's not nearly as painful. Sooner my body mellows the sooner I will be able to get to work on my truck. #homesteading #weather #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Rainy day yesterday that lead to a killer sunset. His bass guitar is here and he LOVES it. One of the best instruments to be practiced in a small house, I can take the sound of bass all day compared to a wind instrument. Tied my first fly in many years, printed the stand for his bass, and found our crocus have popped through the soil they are potted in. #homesteading #sunset #bassguitar #flytying #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Despite my body being trashed and in pain I got a few things done yesterday or at least prepared. The truck is ready to be taken apart and I still need to move the hoist in. The bench is setup nicely and the UV light will be here today for setting the glue for the flies along with barbless hooks. #homesteading #flyfishing #hive #peakd #dailyblog
Thankfully the carport parts arrived mid day so the boys gave me a hand putting it together which only took us about an hour. My truck fits easily inside and I have ample space in front of it to pull the engine out. I hope to have it out in the next day or so. Building my fly tying bench onto my computer desk is super slick and I am dialing it in quickly. Now if I could just find the damn UV light I have for setting the glue.... #homesteading #diy #3dprinting #hive #peakd #dailyblog
PT was good yesterday morning and helped my body not feel so beat up. After finding my laptop USB ports DEAD and fiddling with the issue I got in an hour of fly fishing before the rain moved in. Got a single little rainbow trout that went back in the water. The carport only partially arrived and I await the rest on Thursday. #homesteading #flyfishing #3dprinting #hive #peakd #dailyblog
I'm WORKED after the electrical job yesterday. Had to get sensored power to the lamp post which required some ingenuity and a good bit of grunt labor. It took me longer than I expected but it now works correctly with the sunlight. That was AFTER the predawn grain run. Thnakfully I have PT this morning which should help some. #homesteading #diy #farmstr #hive #peakd #dailyblog
After my catchless time at the river I watched a hawk nearly take a rooster from the hillside but the rooster managed to get away unhurt. The bouldering gym was great for the boys and they wore themselves out nicely. Birthday dinner took a while but ended up okay and we were treated to a nifty view of the moon on the way back home. #homesteading #3dprinting #bouldering #fishing #hive #peakd #dailyblog
So nice having the fly shop 7 miles from the house and from my nearest fishing spot. Stopped in in the morning and got a pair of waterproof gloves then went fishing for a bit. Another 3 rainbow trout caught and released. Crazy how good the mayfly patterns work! I'm printing off a bunch of magnetic clips. I'm hoping the magnets will be strong enough to hold the net to me without it falling off. It will make grabbing it so much easier without having to unclip the carabiner. #homesteading #flyfishing #fishing #hive #peakd #dailyblog #3dprinting
