this might be damaging to my character image, but i have to admit that i did watch the meta demo fail video and it was schadenfreude and fascination that i felt

ok, here we go, one qualcomm processor module for MNT Reform/Pocket/Next fully routed. tomorrow polishing/checks/silkscreen etc... and then: will it power on? :D
i'm looking for a KiCAD EE freelancer who is skilled and well organized (meaning: can finish pcb projects so they are orderable without much nagging from my side (not necessarily with BOM fully picked though)) to offload some of my projects (sometimes partial or redoing something i did, but better) from time to time. all of our (mntre.com) stuff is CERN OHL. anyone interested? write me a DM #getfedihired #kicad
i just heard on IRC that an MNT Pocket Reform survived a 1.8m fall from a train overhead compartment. also the train was not damaged
finally evaluating @npub1ncyt...3x0q Plasma desktop for MNT Pocket Reform (with external secondary dell 1440p monitor + mouse + keyboard) and taking notes. it'll need some little tweaks before we can ship it as a default, but so far it feels pretty fantastic. love the configurability and the attention to detail everywhere image
new MNT August 2025 Update article by [@holo_memory]( ) is out, and there's so much nerdy stuff it's almost zine-length, enjoy:
on our very recent shipments of MNT laptops to the US, i can see that a number of people had to pay "government charges" via UPS before delivery. there is no transparency on these charges, we can only see the dollar amount. the amount is never the expected 15% (EU->US agreement), but usually around 25%, in some cases more. even taking sales taxes into account it doesn't add up. so far no one can explain to us how the charges are calculated or how to appeal. this is beyond frustrating. any ideas?
so i can finally finish this one! but it looks like i have way too many passives lol image
always good to have 3d models image
