I remember being told in my 20's (the 1980's) that "95% of the scientists who ever lived are alive today, and 75% of them work directly or indirectly for the US government." This, of course was before fact checking, but I do want to say: NOT ANYMORE. Doge fired all of them or defunded their grants. All are being recruited by Europe and other parts of the world.
