Is anyone else concerned that Meta have forced an install if their AI right above the start new chat button in WhatsApp and a search bar above existing chats? Also, it can't be disabled or uninstalled, at least not in the UK anyway. I really don't like using WhatsApp but some of the 'you're paranoid' types insist on both it and face ache not that I use the latter at all.
Some are begrudgingly switching to signal asking if it's really that secure after recent war plans were made public. I just remind them not to invite international journalists or politicians to their chat groups, they don't always get that and need it explained unfortunately.
Is it me? Am I overly worried?
I live in a place where it's quiet and dark. We have even persuaded the council that having street lights on at night is a bad thing as we like the dark. However, most of the lane faces the car park and recently the multi millionaire owner has been allowing film companies to use it. Last time a smaller company (movie makers filming beyond paradise) kept us awake with their bright lights and generators which couldn't possibly be turned off because catering needed them on 24 hours a day. Now the whole top end of the car park is a film circus keeping us awake. Their lights stay on late into the night and start again at 05:30. Their generators are on all night and more are started to power the flood lights first thing.
On top of this, their marshalls in the village are asking people 'Where and why' when trying to walk through the streets.
The lives of the people of Polperro mean fkuc all to these bastards, all in the name of entertainment.
Edited out some typos and to say that the video is from my neighbour along the lane who works until midnight so has had about 3 hours sleep thanks to these inconsiderate, self entitled, skum sucking, pond life.
Can anyone reccomend a Mastodon client for the iPhone please? Ideally with a sort if fakebook feel; without the ads, tracking, data mining and algorithms of course.
