Interesting: The @npub1wxdw...4rpp program chairs said that they had an incident in which a reviewer uploaded a paper they were reviewing[*] to an LLM, that LLM leaked something regarding the contents of the paper, this leak did actually make it out into the world, and they were able to track down which reviewer did it. They also mentioned that when people complain about possibly-LLM generated reviews, and the chairs had to look at them; there were four that this happened with, in all cases after examination it was determined that the reviewer did review the paper themselves and just used an LLM to polish the wording. But TPC chairs really really don't need more work to do. They also desk rejected two submitted papers for having LLM-hallucinated references. [*] For those not familiar with academic reviewing, reviewers have a duty to keep papers under review confidential.
