The European Commission has released information about the architecture and reference framework for a digital wallet on GitHub, including specifications and standards for building a European unique identifier: Various companies will build the first pilot of the European identity using the ARF guidelines. The EC wants member states to create their own wallets, but international collaborations like the EUDI Wallet Consortium and Digital Credentials 4 Europe Consortium already exist, which include participation from the Netherlands' SIDN.
