Well, I did manage to "write" some blog posts for my site... Yesterday, I took many snaps, so I've been using a few of them for my Silent Sunday posts... Added some AI alt texts and all that... 😊 Have some posts lined up now for a bit... Need to work on some Book Quote posts soon... 😊 And, of course, I need to write a bit more in advance on the other topics. In 5 weeks, I'll be in hospital now (if all goes as planned), and I may be less able to write for my blog then... 😇 I'll include a long screen shot of all the scheduled posts. #Journal of a slightly busy Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Friday, 09/05/2025). I woke before the alarm was set to go off. I gave Arwen her meds and got dressed. Let Arwen out for a wee, and then took my own meds. Played a bit on my phone till it was time and I could feed Arwen. After that, I got my bag and headed to Skoosh. I enjoyed my protein shake while I caught up with some social media. Then I rode the seated bike for a whole, followed by a few minutes on the cross-trainer. A massage in the chair, and then I got ready to head back home again. Washed up and had brekky. Then Arwen and I headed out for SniffiVerse™ walkies. I thought Arwen would want the smaller route, but she wasn't having it. We had to go the "in-between" route. Guess she was feeling good. 😊 When we got back, I tried to fix my PC chair seat a bit by attaching some duct tape to it... It will not hold it all the way I fear, it it should make sure that I won't tip over so easily when I lean too far... It's not ideal, but it is as it is... 😊 I worked on my PC an bit, added some software and worked on my blog. It was nice to use a PC again. When I got down, it was getting light already, and Arwen saw this as a reason to be ready to head to the Herperduin. So yeah, I took Arwen there again... We had a good time and Arwen had the sniffs and some play time as well. When we got back, I made some food. After that, I got my things ready, and Arwen and I headed to Nijmegen. Arwen would stay with my parents for a bit, so that I could visit the Zoo this morning. I arrived a bit early and the first 45 minutes in the park were awesome! Then, more folks started coming in, some accompanied by their smaller, louder, versions... So around 10:30, I headed back to Skoosh. It was getting too loud and crowded and I had seen most of the animals. Even seen a few that I missed the last time... 😊 Yay! I picked up Arwen, and then er headed back home. Fixed some food for us and then we relaxed a bit on the couch. Walkies with N&B were nice, although the neighborhood is so messy these days... It's hard to find a good and safe route to walk. Some more relaxing, till it was time to get ready for bed. I was rather tired, so it didn't take too long to fall asleep... I woke up for the loo, and got back to bed. And then... A horrible nightmare! It scared me so much, that I woke up two hours early, but I was just so shocked... I could not sleep anymore! So... :bear_love: Ello sweet and lovely Friendos :purple_heart_sparkle: I is early, I know... Seems like my brain was not happy with me, as it gave me a bloody awful nightmare! I woke up because, and this is so silly, I saw Arwen walk over a high platform, and the platform shifted, Arwen jumped, hung on for a while, and when she started falling, that's when I woke, bathing in sweat... 😥 Maybe I need to change the duvet of the bed, maybe it were my hormones acting up. But when you see your dog fall to her death, however unrealistic, yeah... I could not sleep after that! Then I wanted to use the scale. But... The app had logged me out again. It didn't accept my login and I could not get it to work... 😔 This happened in January as well. And it's bloody annoying. I'll try to log on later. But if I need another new login, it will mean that I lose all my progress again. I have the info sheets saved but I can't easily compare those... 😔 Technical things like this suck when they don't work properly... A very sweet friend send me something for my bday, so that got added to the funds for Arwen's meds that I need to get this Monday... Fankoos 🫶🏻 so much! Let's see if I can get some exercise done. Because I'm earlier, it's still more busy, which I don't really like... But yeah, I just couldn't sleep anymore... 😔 Hopefully, today, I can get some gaming done. I do need to visit the store as well, as my parents decided they do want to visit me this Sunday. When we were shopping last Thursday, and we talked about it, mum didn't say anything... So I didn't buy anything. So, of course, now they tell me they do want to visit... Which also means that I have to clean a bit... Yay... Busy day today... Not that much, but hey, I'm trying to add some more exercises again. Not that my body is grateful now, but hopefully it will be in the end... As this is the first donation through Kofi since I've changed my PayPal, they're holding the money for a while, to prevent bad business... 😔 They say I can accelerate the process, but I need to figure out how to do that. And I fear it will take longer to be processed after that... Arwen is getting some sniffs in, and I'm a bit warm in my jacket. It's 9°C and dry, which means it's a tad cold for one jacket, but it's a tad warm for the other. 😂 I guess I'd rather be a bit warmer than cold, so I chose the warmer jacket. I've been reading up on some of the help my sweet friends gave me re my PC. I have the old data cables from the old PC taken out. After the walkies, I'll head to the new PC and see what I can do with it. I'll probably only be able to connect the HDD, if I'm lucky, which is the most important one. Of course it would have been nice to also connect the small SSD... Ah well... I did my best at the gym. Managed almost half an hour on the seated bike, most of it on level 2. Then I did one rowing exercise on a weight machine. It was hard on my elbow, but I managed 3x 12 rows. It's not much, but hey, it's more than I did last week! Today will be Germany day. So I won't have too much time to play with the new PC. #Journal of a slightly tired Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Wednesday, 07/05/2025). I woke up around 21 for the loo. I decided to head back to bed, and I woke up again, just three minutes before the alarm was set to go off. I quickly gave Arwen her meds, and I used the scale before I got dressed. I took Arwen outside for her things. Then I took my own meds, and I played a little on social media, until I could feed Arwen. When she was happily eating, I got my bag, put out the snacks, and headed to Skoosh. I checked my socials some more while I was enjoying my protein shake. Then, I rode the seated bike for half an hour. It was less busy at the weights section, so I managed to do two light weight shoulder exercises. Yay me! Then I switched my shoes and got ready to head back home again Washed up, changed clothes, had brekky. Then Arwen and I got ready to go out for SniffiVerse™ walkies. It was a bit chilly, so I got my warmer jacket. We walked the shorter route, but that was OK. When we got back, I got my laptop and I worked on my blog for a while. I tried to relax a bit after that, but my brain was just too busy. When it was getting light out, Arwen was giving me some hints that I couldn't miss. So, even though I was rather tired, I got the towel and snacks, and we headed to Skoosh. Another walk at the Herperduin. And, while I had rather been on the couch, seeing Arwen enjoy herself so much, it made it all worth it! 🥰 On the way back, I tried to edit a silly little video, so Arwen could have all the sniffs without me being too annoyed by that... 😇 We got back, and I fixed some food. Then, there was a wee bit of time to relax. My brain was still too excited, because today, my PC would come. So, of course, time passed by way too slow... Arwen and I went out for walkies, and she was bummed, as we didn't see the neighbor. Then, I changed clothes and I rode the home trainer for half an hour. Followed by some gaming. I finished the story line of Lost Records. It wasn't all what I expected, but it wasn't too bad for sure. Now, I'll need a guide to get some of the other endings and all, and I need some collectibles, so that I can get more of the achievements. Around 11, we went for another walk. This time, we did see the neighbor, but she didn't have snacks, so Arwen was disappointed 😂. Poor girl never gets anything! 😂 I watched some telly till the PC arrived. When I carried it upstairs, N&B came for walkies. So we got ready, and we had a nice walk. When we got back, I unpacked the PC, and tried to add the things from my old PC. The firewire card was no issue. The hard drives were... I could not find the cables that I needed... 😔 And the ones I did find, they weren't long enough... Maybe there is still a way to connect them, maybe there isn't... 😔 Bummer! I let Arwen out for a final wee, and then we went to sleep. It didn't take too long to doze off. I woke once for the loo, and then again, about 45 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. So... In a few days, I'll complete another trip around the sun... I can't really throw a big party, because a) I'm too tired to have many people over at the same time, and b) because if the costs it usually involves... I'm trying to save money for Arwen's new pills, as she has only a few more days in her bottle. The pills are €112 per bottle of 30. It's a lot! But she's feeling so much better on them.... :dogeparrot: SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot :annoyingdog: Ello frens and fans of Arwen :verified_paw: We're back on another adventure :kirby_walk: Arwen is doing rather well, not too many long sniffs (so far). The weather is at 8°C and it's dry, so that's not too bad. 😊 I rode the bike for half an hour at the gym. After that, I tried two shoulder exercises. Just a low weight, 3* 12 reps. It was a bit uncomfortable, but it also felt good to be doing them again. The plus side of being a bit later, it's a bit less busy at the exercise machines. 💪🏼 As I shared in the gym Toot, the PC should be delivered between 11-13:30. So yeah, fingers crossed that I can get it early and make a start with it. 🍀 I don't have too many plans for today, so that should be good... I'm not sure yet if we should go to the Herperduin again. Arwen really missed it yesterday... So let's see how this walk goes, and how we both feel in a few hours... 😊 I'll probably try to make some progress with one if the games I've been playing. Don't know which one yet... Or maybe my arm and hands will allow me to do some more work in the garden. Maybe I can get the anti weeds cloth set in Arwen's corner? 🤔 Let's see how I will feel after walkies and all that... Maybe we won't go to the woods till Friday? It really all depends on how I feel, as my body is still rather sore. My physio got some good cracks out of my back, neck, and elbow yesterday... #Journal of a Dutch Pixy :pixy_party: (Tuesday, 06/05/2025) I woke up about an hour before the alarm was set to go off. Got Arwen her meds, and then I got to the scale. Weight went down a wee bit again, and I seem to be back to my "usual" weight now. I got dressed, let Arwen out, and took my meds. Checked up on some social media, till it was time to feed Arwen. When she was eating happily, I put out the snacks, and grabbed my bag. On my way to the gym! I had several messages from a very sweet friend, so I tried to catch up with those as I enjoyed my protein shake. I got to the seated bike for about twenty minutes. Then I did 5 on the cross-trainer. My body was sore and it wasn't having any more. So I enjoyed a massage in the chair before I got ready to head back home again. Washed up, changed clothes, had brekky. As it was a colder night with some wind, I was smart this time, and I got my warmer jacket. 😊 Arwen wanted the shorter walk, which was OK with me. When we got back, I switched my clothes again, and I got to the treadmill for an hour. My aim was half an hour, so I was really pleased that I managed to walk for a whole hour. 😊 While I was walking, I was using AI to create some alt texts for older images that I uploaded to my Flickr in the past. I have no idea if anyone will ever see the Alt texts, but it feels good to make some of my images more accessible. But yeah, even with AI helping, it's still a lot of work to get the texts to the images in Flickr. But, it was a good distraction, as I did manage to walk for an hour. 😊 I washed up again, changed clothes, and headed to the couch for some relaxing. I was rather tired, but unfortunately, my brain was too active to let me really relax. I walked a short walk with Arwen. Then I was playing a game when my bestie called me. The school vacation was over and she had to work again. We had a nice chat till she arrived at her work. I played the game some more, and then I got ready to walk to the supermarket for some groceries. Unfortunately, they didn't have all that I wanted to get... Which was a bit of a bummer. When I got back, I had some food and I walked Arwen again. After that, there was a wee bit of time to game some more, until it was time to get ready to head to Cuijk. After Arwen had her meal and a short walk, I got my bags and I headed to Cuijk. A quick stop for a quick shower for Skoosh. The construction work had made her brown instead of white. I knew that washing her properly would not help much yet, as the construction work is still going on. But a rinse would protect the paint some, as there was so much sand and dust on her. When I aimed the pressure thingie on her, and water hit her, she was dripping with brown water! Iiiieeeeeuuuuwwww so gross! She wasn't all sparkling after a quick rinse, but it definitely was an improvement. As long as it will last.... 🤔 I went to the PT and waited till it was my turn. My physio was running a bit late, so I was getting a bit stressed, as I also had to visit Lidl after the session, and I needed to be back in time for walkies... The session was good, albeit a bit painful due to my bad elbow. Then, I got my groceries, and I headed back home again. I just had time to clean up the things, as Arwen was very eager for walkies. We had a nice walk with N&B, and the weather wasn't too bad. When we got back, I relaxed a bit with some telly until it was time to get ready for bed. Arwen went out for a wee and then it was sleepies time. It didn't take too long before I dozed off. I woke around 21 for the loo, and then I snoozed again until about 3 minutes before the alarm was set to go off. We're back from walkies. I changed into some fitness clothes. Lying on the couch now, as I need a bit of rest. After that, I will get to the treadmill for a while, and see how that goes.
