Reply Control is basically a feature that won't make any sense & shouldn't be encouraged. You're trying to make your own version of your walled garden after you escaped from one. Ironic.
There are reasons for it. See:
You might have your comment section clean, But you do need to remember that this platform is federated. That means, Even though your section is clean, People from other instances that see your post can see the unfiltered version of the comment section.
This is because, The flow DOESN'T looked like this:
People comment -> Your homeserver -> Your homeserver broadcasts to everyone
It doesn't work like that. Instead:
People comment -> Your homeserver -> That commenter's homeserver broadcasts to everyone
You see where is this going? Take it like you are blocking an email address, But other people that got CC-ed or had a mailing list basically sees the real feedback being put into your mail.
That's how it goes.
If the current flow is changed, Then we are basically failed to make a decentralized platform. Think again.
