Look how much mental math an english speaking person needs for normal sounds. Like the "Ō" and "dŌ" - like sounds from Polish. It always amazes me that people are ok with "ok, this letter sounds like another letter but used in this specific word. Don't speak it like the same letter in another word, because it sounds like a completely different letter". Go home english, you're drunk.
