The murder of 15 people at Bondi Beach was a vile antisemitic attack and is rightfully being condemned.
Meanwhile, at least 14 people died in Gaza in the last 24 hours in a storm because they’re being forced to live in inhumane conditions by Israel. Where is the international outrage and condemnation?
Meanwhile, Israel has murdered ~400 Palestinians since the “ceasefire” was announced on October 10. That’s roughly one Bondi Beach every three days. Where is the international outrage and condemnation?
Meanwhile, Israel was murdering roughly 250 Palestinians a day during the height of its ongoing genocide. That’s 16 Bondi Beaches every day. Where is the international outrage and condemnation?
Every life is precious, yes. But it seems some lives are far more precious than others for people in the West.
The blame for the horrific and antisemitic terrorist attack at Bondi Beach lies solely with the perpetrators. However, no one can deny that Israel and Zionists are making Jewish people everywhere less safe by conflating support of Israel and the settler-colonial and genocidal ideology of Zionism with being Jewish, and going so far as to call those who oppose Israel’s genocide and Zionism – many of them Jews – “antisemitic.”
Stopping Israel and its genocide of the Palestinian people is not just the morally correct thing to do but it is the best thing the world could do to protect Jews everywhere from those who would perpetuate the great antisemitic conflation of being Jewish with support for settler colonialism, ethnic cleansing, apartheid and genocide. That is, of course, if our so-called world leaders, who are quick to arm and support Israel’s genocide, actually care about the welfare of Jewish people instead of sharing in the spoils of genocide.
