This week's video is a reveal of a tool that I've been working on for quite a while and I'm really happy with how they turned out. There were several revisions and tweaks and adjustments... all part of the process of making it good enough to share with you all! Want to play with them? We'll have them at our table at @npub1dqdh...8xy4 !
This is, very likely, the absolute best thing you can read on this Fourth of July today... "The Declaration... contains a long list of grievances... Sadly, many of these are relevant to Donald Trump's abuses of power today"
American airports: "Take off your shoes! Is that water bottle empty?! I don't like the look of this nail file, buster!" Switzerland: "Please feel free to purchase our iconic pocketknives right here inside the terminal." image
For those who have been following along in the matter of Hadnagy vs @npub1dqdh...8xy4 ... I'm no lawyer but it looks like this might finally be the nail in the coffin for all that remains in this legal matter? DEFCON's motion for summary judgment appears to be granted and the judge ordered all further proceedings to stop, In light of the fact that the truth is an affirmative defense against allegations or charges of defamation or harm. https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/68094183/119/hadnagy-v-moss/?redirect_to_download=True
I watched people all night long hit the ground floor here with an audible *thud* as they all expected there to be one more step downward, heh. While I do not think this is an accessibility violation, I do think it's poor design. 🦶
"Learn the difference between 'helping' and being 'helpy'" ~ @npub1udn9...3tjr at #BSidesSEA (If all you are doing is pointing at things and saying "look I found all these problems" you're not helping, you're being helpy... Being "helpy" allows you to claim that you're part of the process and a valuable part of the team and it makes you visible in meetings but doesn't actually improve anything.) image
Thank you to everybody who sent me the news stories and posts about the hacked crosswalk buttons in Silicon Valley and Seattle. Maybe we'll see them elsewhere, too, soon? I'm betting there may be other cities who's DOT chose weak passwords for systems like this. If you haven't heard what's up, I did a super short video about this...
Is Angelia trying to send me a spam email or ransom note? image
EDIT: So it seems like Anki is the main thing I should be trying first. Thank you to the approximately 500 of you and counting who suggested this in their replies! 😂 Ok, internet, I've looked and looked and for the life of me I can't find something that seems like it should be easy to implement and would sell well: study guide / brain trainer software that would allow you to easily make self-quizzing tools. Anyone can hand-make flash cards, but it'd be nice not to waste paper. But much more than that I would hope such software starts learning success rates, so that it starts offering you more and more of the questions that haven't been answered as successfully/quickly. Also, the ability to incorporate images as well as merely text would be marvelous. Bonus: being able to populate all of this on a computer and not pecking away at a teeny smartphone screen keyboard would definitely be desirable. Thoughts?
