#chickpic of the day #tsp #homesteading #gardening #grownostr These chicks are two months old now. They roost on top of their old cage instead of the roosting bars on the other side of the coop. I’m not sure if they want to be near the window or they like the wider and flatter surface. image
#chickpic of the day #tsp #homesteading #gardening I’m all about automation and function stacking. I installed an automated chicken door yesterday. The run encloses the blackberries that the deer have been eating. The 6 foot fence should keep the deer out. The chickens will eat what they can reach but blackberries grow like weeds around here. I’ll have more than I can eat and freeze in a few years. image
#chickpic of the day They like the run I finished. Stretching their wings.

#chickpic of the day. These gals (and Cogburn) are almost 2 months old. Cogburn still thinks he’s a girl. I’m anxious for them to be large enough to stand up to the cats. Until then, I put them in this covered dog pen every day. image

These girls are about 6 weeks old. One rooster, Cogburn is his name, doesn’t know he’s a rooster yet. #chickpic of the day #grownostr #tsp image
