One of the reasons why #Mastodon is able to add so many new features is because it's written in Ruby. However, this also makes it unattractive to run in the first place because of Ruby's inefficiency. This is why I encourage new #Fediverse developers to adopt #V:

Discourse is an example of viral contagion. It has no redeeming qualities. It did not improve upon basic forums. And yet it spread across the Internet. Like Windows, it gives hope to everyone who writes mediocre software: you too can become a success.
