What is really important to understand here is if this 10+ point swing in rural areas across the nation can be sustained in the midterm elections all the GOP gerrymandering goes out the window, and can actually work against them.
Gerrymandering works by taking 'safe' GOP districts and moving some of the voters to Democrat leaning districts. With a 10+ point swing this can actually result in the GOP loosing both districts.
